Thanks for reading my blog. I acknowledge my use of 'more colourful language' - especially in my more dramatic, less formal, story telling articles. I've taken your comments on board and asked a number of my colleagues, peers and parents of kids I teach to review my online material and tell me if they found it inappropriate or offensive. I haven't found anyone else who has been offended or disturbed by the content or style of my publications. However you are entitled to your opinions and I respect that.

I don't respect, however, the manner in which you make your complaint. Your reservations about my broadcasting style are fine but once you descend into personal attacks on my intellect, integrity and suitability as a teacher of martial arts, you let yourself down. Ironically, the most offensive use of language on my website is your comment.

P.S. Before you lecture me on well educated English, perhaps you should read back over your comment and correct your grammar.

I like the site, at first glance it would seem that you have a good outlook, teaching kids etc... But then I read further, look at your vids and to my amazement I find that it's full of Profanities.
Now I’m not a prude and where needed I can swear with the best/worst of them but come on, you ever think that the children that you teach log on to look at their clubs website??

I got a feeling that you’re use of swear words are a substitute for a poor intellect!
perhaps you are just another martial arts charlatan !

Try to behave in a professional manner, remove or protect the children that you preport to value from the need to use swear words instead of proper, well educated English, behave like a teacher not pretend to be one!

Very Very Sad !!!!!!

Ps Broken nose ! par for the course, me thinks !!!!!

Thanks Marcelo.
At K2C, we believe in that model as well. Except we generally give 60% to the instructor and they get paid at the end of each class.
The NGO scenario tends to happen with other sports like GAA, Soccer or Rugby. But as well as students not paying, instructors tend to be unpaid volunteers also. This is where I usually find problems. Instructors who work for NGOs on a voluntary basis often comment to me that martial arts should be taught on a voluntary basis also. That's the main reason I wrote this article.

Very interesting text, Liam.
As a example of how this happens in another society: at Brazilian gyms, teachers of martial arts usually share with the gym, half of the students fees. The students pay a monthly fee, and the teachers receive your money at the end of the same month.
Usually at NGOs social programs the students don't pay fee for the classes, but the teachers are paid by the NGO.
